FORDWICH VILLAGE NURSING HOME
Our 33-bed Accredited Home is located in the friendly community of Fordwich, Ontario, in the northeast corner of Huron County. Fordwich is one hour from Kitchener/Waterloo and two hours north of London and northwest of Toronto. Our Home has upgraded Fire Systems with Sprinklers throughout the facility to promote maximum fire safety. We believe our services must provide privacy, safety, security, promote maximum independence and reflect dignity, self-worth, individuality, and happiness. Staff are committed to Resident Centred Care to meet many physical, emotional, social, intellectual, cultural, and spiritual needs of our Residents to enhance the quality of their lives.
Volunteers and the Community are the links of the past, present, and future for our Residents. These gentle people of kind hearts and hands enhance Residents’ everyday lives in helpful & meaningful ways. They attend our Home to share Activities, Entertainment, Health Promotion Sessions and the Community Diners Program.
Fordwich Village Nursing Home has an active Resident Council and Family Council to aid in the planning of programs, dietary requests and education for our Residents and Families.

Each month a newsletter is sent to the families of our Residents' and posted here for the most up-to-date information.
Our menus are developed by a Registered Dietitian in consultation with our Residents and updated twice a year.

Food Services Manager
ROSEMARIE DROEFKE
Rosemarie joined the leadership team in 2025. Rosemarie is a Certified Nutrition Manager with previous long-term care home and cooking experience. She continues to be involved with ongoing education to be knowledgeable about food trends and nutritional interventions. Rosemarie is passionate about helping the residents with their overall health, providing both nutritious and delicious foods to encourage ‘food first” as a nutritional intervention.
Environmental Services Manager
CASSANDRA SWANSON
Cassandra joined our team in 2023 as the Environmental Services Manager here at Fordwich Village Nursing Home, Cassandra oversees our housekeeping and laundry departments, playing a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, families, and staff. With a strong commitment to high standards and a genuine care for the well-being of others, Cassandra has quickly become an essential part of our home. Her leadership ensures that every space reflects the warmth and dignity our residents deserve.
Activity/Restorative Manager
BARB WAKEFORD
Barb has worked in LTC for over 30 years and has a passion for helping residents live each day to the fullest. Barb continues to take courses and keep her to be able to provide the best care to Fordwich Village residents.
AMANDA WILLIAMS
Administative Clerk
Amanda brings excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a friendly approach to her work. With years of experience in administrative and accounting rolls, she will be assisting with daily administrative duties, supporting both staff, residents and families. Amanda's door is always open, stop by and say Hello!
ANU ALEXANDER
Anu provides leadership in, and is committed to the highest and safest quality of care. Anu is an RN and has postgraduate diplomas in Gerontology and Chronic Illness and Critical and Clinical Care Nursing.

Meet Julie Bridge, our amazing Maintenance Lead here at Fordwich Village Nursing Home. Julie has been keeping things running smoothly since 2018, and we’re so grateful for her hard work, reliability, and care behind the scenes!
